Write one example task, three untimed practice tasks, and four tasks in 40 minutes. After you finish, compare your work with the example answers and DUO's current assessment criteria.

Example
Write task 1 before you open its example answer. Then complete tasks 2-4 without a timer. Finish with tasks 5-8 in 40 minutes and read the example answers only after time ends.
Opgave 1: Reparatie ophalen

Set 40 minutes for tasks 5-8. Read all four tasks, write your answers on paper, and keep a few minutes to complete missing fields or sentences. The next section contains only the Dutch tasks.

How writing is assessed
DUO uses one assessment model for forms and another for free writing and correspondence. Adequacy and understandability come first. If that category receives 0, every other category on the task also receives 0. DUO adds guidance about what counts as an acceptable answer to each task.

A form can receive up to 7 points. A free-writing or correspondence task can receive up to 10 points. These task scores cannot predict your result for the whole exam. An official assessor applies the full DUO model and the guidance for that task.
