An A2 Speaking answer can be short, direct, and complete. You do not need to speak for the full minute. In many A2 tasks, four to six simple Dutch sentences are enough if they answer every part of the prompt and use the picture when there is one.
Use these answers as patterns. Change the details to match your situation.
Short Answer
Build an A2 speaking answer from what you choose or see, one extra detail, and a reason or opinion. Keep the sentences short. Give a clear, complete answer before adding longer or more difficult sentences.
A2 Speaking Samples by Question Type
Each sample answers the prompt first, then adds a detail, reason, opinion, or sequence.

Features of Effective A2 Speaking Answers
- They answer the task first. The first sentence already gives the main answer.
- They use A2 grammar. The sentences are short and mostly use present tense.
- They add a reason. Words like want (because) and omdat (because) connect the answer to a reason.
- They keep grammar manageable. The listener needs to understand the answer.
Adapting an A2 Speaking Sample Answer
Memorize reusable frames: Ik kies... (I choose...), Ik zie... (I see...), Ik vind het leuk/niet leuk, want... (I like it / do not like it, because...), and Eerst, daarna, tot slot... (First, then, finally...) Fill each frame with words from the prompt.
