Good A2 Speaking sample answers are short, direct, and complete. You do not need to speak for the full minute. In many A2 tasks, four to six simple Dutch sentences are enough if they answer every part of the prompt and use the picture when there is one.

Use them as patterns. Change the details so the answer sounds true for you.

Short Answer

A passing A2 speaking answer usually says: what you choose or see, one extra detail, and a reason or opinion. Keep the sentences short. Clear Dutch with small mistakes is better than a long answer that loses the task.

Sample Answers by Question Type

TypeOriginal PromptSample Answer
3 picturesEen man maakt zijn fiets klaar. Vertel iets over alle plaatjes.Eerst pompt de man zijn band op. Daarna zet hij zijn tas op de fiets. Tot slot fietst hij naar zijn werk. Hij wil op tijd komen.

Why These Answers Work

  • They answer the task first. The first sentence already gives the main answer.
  • They use A2 grammar. The sentences are short and mostly use present tense.
  • They add a reason. Words like want and omdat make the answer feel complete.
  • They do not chase perfection. The goal is understandable speech, not a beautiful speech.

How to Adapt a Sample Answer

Do not memorize one fixed answer for every topic. Memorize small frames instead: Ik kies..., Ik zie..., Ik vind het leuk/niet leuk, want..., and Eerst, daarna, tot slot... Then fill the frame with the words from the prompt.
