Inburgering Exam Locations: Where to Take A1, A2, KNM, ONA, and NT2

The right inburgering exam location depends on the exam family. All listed DUO exam places are wheelchair-accessible. If you need an adapted exam because of illness, disability or personal circumstances, do not assume every adaptation is possible at every location. Indicate your situation during registration and wait for DUO instructions.

The A1 basisexamen inburgering buitenland works differently because you take it before coming to the Netherlands for an MVV route. Local official notes say you first register digitally and pay through DUO/inburgeren.nl. After you receive confirmation, normally within 5 working days, you make the appointment yourself with the embassy, consulate or country-specific service provider named in the confirmation or on NederlandWereldwijd.

• Check the country-specific appointment page before you plan travel.
• Bring the documents named in your appointment confirmation, including your passport and any required passport photo.
• If there is no Dutch embassy or consulate in your country, check the nearest possible exam location and whether you need a visa for that country.
• Do not use the Dutch A2/KNM locations for the A1 abroad exam. They are different systems.

For Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I (B1) and Programma II (B2), you register with DUO. The official NT2 notes list six exam cities: Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Rijswijk, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Zwolle. During registration you choose a place and date, then see available times. If your preferred day or time is full, another city may still have a place.

DUO sends the NT2 examenoproep by email and post. The call letter states where you must be and when your exam starts. Official NT2 guidance also says to arrive 30 minutes early. If you have not received the call letter about 12 days before the exam, contact DUO immediately.
